This limited edition fly box is made of claro walnut, tiger maple, birdseye maple, paua abalone shell, mother of pearl, bronze, brass, red epoxy, crushed obsidian stone, and varnish.
I’ve been designing and building extraordinary pieces in wood for over 25 years. Rarely, you come across pieces of lumber who’s grain and color are rare and special. Having saved some pieces of claro walnut and birdseye maple for years, I’ve decided to share them with you, with this limited edition grouping of fly boxes. My newest fly inlay design “The Coachman” will don the front of these pieces, featuring exquisite details of inlaid materials.
Made to order in my studio tucked into the Montana Rockies and close to some of the more famous trout waters in the world, these two editions are limited to only eight pieces. Each box will be signed, dated and numbered.
Finally, for an olfactory experience in the atmosphere in which they were made, each piece will be delivered to you nesting in freshly cut cedar shavings – you’ll smell the shop as soon as you open the box.
